Kylie Pollock

Accessibility Manager, The Commonwealth Bank of Australia & A11yPals

Kylie (aka the Hairbow Hippie) is a trained accessibility professional from Australia. Kylie comes from a software engineering background (full-stack development) and following some serious life events moved into the accessibility space approximately 7 years ago. Kylie lives with photosensitivity, C-PTSD, Chronic Daily Migraines, Cluster Headaches and recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia! These of course just means she is not afraid of hard work, or a little (or even a lot for that matter) of pain.

Across Kylie's IT career she has worked with many large and small organisations across Australia and is currently employed by A11yPals and The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA). More importantly however, she is an avid roller-skater who started learning on the cusp of 40, clearly as some mid-life crisis, but during those mindful skate sessions Kylie had the revelation that Roller-skating and digital accessibility actually have a lot in common. If you are curious make sure to check out her blog.
