If you are an accessibility professional and are interested in teaching a 6 - 8 hour pre-conference deep dive, or a 90 or 180 minute class during the regular conference, use the link below to submit your proposal. The deadline for submission is November 30, 2026. 

What is AccessU?

AccessU is an interactive and communal environment, providing you with practical tools to implement accessibility in your organization. You will learn about:

• Accessibility
• Usability
• Inclusive design skills

Whether you are a manager, code-slinger, designer, researcher, content creator, or any other role, you will learn from dozens of professional development classes across seven parallel tracks. Gain practical, applicable accessibility and digital inclusion skills to meet current needs.

Conference Overview

Tuesday May 11 - Pre-Conference Deep Dives

These full-day workshops are a great opportunity to dig deep into accessibility best practices with experienced leaders in the field.

Wednesday, May 12 through Friday, May 14 - General Conference

The AccessU general conference features three days of in-depth instructional learning from accessibility experts and includes hands-on practice and peer discussion. Sessions will be categorized under the following learning tracks:

Attendee Tickets and Pricing

Start planning now! Registration opens soon, and pre-sale pricing runs through December 31, 2026. That gives you time to get approvals in place and lock in the best rate.

New in 2027: We want you at AccessU! That’s why this year we will be introducing a Pay-Over-Time option when you check out to spread your registration into smaller payments. Save your seat now and pay as you go.

AccessU 2027 offers three ticket types, so you can choose the experience that fits your goals and schedule. Every ticket includes access to the sessions, keynotes, and social events held on the days you attend.

Pre-Sale Ticket Pricing through December 31, 2026

Standard Ticket Pricing begins March 13, 2027

Available Discounts

• Students: Email proof of enrollment to accessu@knowbility.org. Once your enrollment is verified, we will email you a unique 10% discount code.
• AIR 2027 Team Members and Clients: Email us at accessu@knowbility.org. Once your participation is verified, we will email you a unique 10% discount code.

Presenter Tickets

We will notify you by January 15, 2027 if your session is accepted.

• Wait for your notification before you register.
• Starting this year, Presenter tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be applied to future events.

New: Presenter Registration - Ticket Deadlines and Pricing

AccessU offers General Conference tickets to accepted presenters. The ticket price depends on your presenter role and when you register.

The following table lists presenter roles, registration deadlines, and pricing information.

New: Presenter Cancellation Policy

• On or before March 15, 2027, the presenter may cancel their session without penalty or further obligation.
• After March 15, 2027, if the presenter has purchased a ticket and cancels their session, their purchased ticket is subject to the AccessU Ticket Refund and Transfer Policy.
• After March 15, 2027, sessions without registered presenters will be cancelled by Knowbility so that the final schedule of classes can be completed.

Emergencies happen. If one comes up, email us at accessu@knowbility.org and we'll happily review your situation on a case-by-case basis.

Sponsor Tickets

Thank you to our Community Programs sponsors!

Each sponsorship includes AccessU conference tickets and discounts on additional tickets. The number of tickets inlcuded and the discount on additional tickets varies by sponsorship level.

• Check what's included. The sponsorship agreement lists the ticket type and the number of tickets included.
• Get registration codes. Once the sponsorship commitment is paid, email accessu@knowbility.org and we'll send the organization two unique codes:
  • Sponsor ticket code: Use this code to claim the tickets included with the sponsorship.
  • Discount code: Use this code to register additional attendees at the discounted rate for the sponsorship level.
    • Share both codes with staff who will be attending so they can register.
• Plans changed? No problem. You can transfer sponsor tickets to someone else at your company. Read our Ticket Transfer Policies for details.

Sponsor Attendee Registration Deadline

Sponsorship opportunities are open year-round, so you can join us anytime. To make sure everyone using sponsor tickets has full access to sessions and Zoom events, please have all attendees register by May 1st.

New: Ticket Refund and Transfer Policies

Refund Policy

All ticket sales are final and non-refundable, and cannot be applied to future events.

If you register and can't attend, refer to the Ticket Transfer Policies below to find out whether your ticket can be transferred.

Ticket Transfer Policies

To request a ticket transfer or speaker change, email accessu@knowbility.org with the details listed below.

• Attendee Tickets: Paid attendee tickets can be transferred to someone else. Email us the new attendee's name and email address, and we'll transfer your registration. (Unpaid tickets cannot be transferred.)
• Presenter Tickets: Presenter tickets are non-transferable, non-refundable, and can't be applied to future events.
  • Need to change speakers?
  • If a presenter can't attend and someone else will present in their place, request a schedule change, not a ticket transfer.
    • Email us with the new presenter's name and email address and we'll update the session details.
• Sponsor Tickets: Sponsor tickets can be transferred to another person at your company. Send the new attendee's name, email address, and job title, and we'll take care of the change. (Sponsorship commitment must be paid in full)

About AccessU

The John Slatin AccessU conference is named after the late Dr. John Slatin, a pioneering leader in web accessibility. John taught at the University of Texas at Austin for 29 years. He was co-Chair of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Working Group (WCAG-WG) as it updated and revised the W3C guidelines (WCAG 2.0).

In his honor, we designed a four-day digital accessibility training conference. Our goal is not just to talk about accessibility but to teach coding, usability, and inclusive design skills in an interactive and communal environment. Learn to integrate accessibility into your digital communications work, whatever your role may be.
