AccessU 2027
Call for Proposals

John Slatin AccessU is a skills training conference and is unique in providing the dedicated time for in-depth, hands-on, deep learning opportunities for attendees.

Submission Deadline: November 30, 2026

Please note that this year, we are not accepting virtual presenters. We have found that these sessions are generally not well attended so all sessions need to be presented in-person at St. Edward's.

The field of digital accessibility is dynamic and ever-changing. Thanks for your interest in helping our community keep pace by sharing your knowledge and proven experience. We look forward to seeing you in May in Austin!

Session Tracks

Please note that this year, we are not asking you to identify a learning track. Instead, the review committee will place your session into one of the following tracks:

  • Development
  • Testing
  • Design and User Experience
  • Documents and Templates
  • AI and Emerging Technologies
  • Policy and Strategy
  • Marketing and Communication
  • Advocacy

Session Formats

AccessU stands out from other conferences because our sessions teach and train participants. Sessions are in-depth, hands-on learning experiences for virtual and onsite attendees.

Pre-Conference Workshop (Tuesday, May 11)

  • 6 - 8 Hour Pre-conference workshop - to be presented live from St. Edward's to onsite and virtual attendees

General Sessions (Wednesday, May 12 - Friday, May 14)

  • Options
    • 180 Minute General Session - presented live from St. Edward's to onsite and virtual attendees, with a minimum of 45 minutes for practice and Q&A
    • 90 Minute General Session - presented live from St. Edward's to onsite and virtual attendees, with a minimum of 30 minutes for practice and Q&A

Proposal Acceptance Notifications & Terms

We will notify you by January 15, 2027 if your session is accepted. Please wait for your notification before you register.

If your session is accepted:

you must:

  • Register as a Presenter by the Registration Deadlines outlined below.
  • Agree to provide fully accessible materials by April 17, 2027.

If not accepted:

  • If your proposal is not accepted, you will still be able to register for the conference at the early bird rate by Friday, March 5 , 2027. (Pricing coming soon)

Accepted Presenter Tickets and Registration

Presenter Tickets

Presenter pricing depends on how many people are presenting your session:

  • Sole presenter: One free General Registration ticket.
  • Sessions with multiple presenters: Free General Registration tickets for the first and second presenters.
  • Additional presenters (third and beyond): $450 pre-sale price when you register by Friday, March 5, 2027.

Presenter Registration Deadline

  • Claim your ticket: Register by the presenter registration deadline, Friday, March 5, 2027.
    • If you miss the deadline: Register at the early bird rate by Friday, March 5 , 2027 to keep your session on the schedule.
