Peter Slatin is a disability consultant, writer and advocate. Peter, who is blind, is the founder and president of Slatin Group LLC, which provides education and training on disability inclusion for internal management and HR performance as well as service excellence for people with disabilities. Slatin Group programs are drawn on the lived experience with disability.

Slatin Group programs Elements of Service and the Accessibility Blueprint has informed thousands of leaders and employees across the U.S. through in-person workshops and an e-learning course developed with strategic partner Slatin Media group. Clients include large destination marketing organizations such as NYC & Company and Visit Seattle; top tier hotels such as the Lotte Palace New York and Sofitel Chicago ; attractions such as One World Observatory ; and airport authorities.

Peter is an award-winning journalist and a Contributor to Forbes.com on disability and accessibility; he has also written extensively for major publications such as The New York Times and Wall Street Journal on commercial real estate, architecture and finance. He was the founder and editor in chief of Grid, a trade magazine covering the intersection of architecture and commercial property, which received numerous awards for editorial excellence from American Business Media. He is the recipient of the Oculus Award for Excellence in Architectural Journalism from the New York City Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

Peter speaks frequently on social accessibility and universal design. Recent presentations include the Cornell University HR & Hospitality Conference; US Travel Association ESTO Convention; the Monterey Design Conference; The Nonprofit Technology Conference; and Infocomm. He is a director of Empire State Employment Resources for the Blind and the Colorado Center for the Blind, and is a member of the steering committee of Pedestrians for Accessible and Safe Streets (PASS), New York City, an advocacy group. He served on the boards of Lighthouse Guild and the Van Alen Institute, a leading think tank on public space design and policy. He holds an MA in Art History from Hunter College of the City University of New York and a BFA in painting from State University of New York at New Paltz.
