Nicholas Cook

Software Engineer, Assitiv Labs
Nicholas Cook is a software engineer at Assistiv Labs, where he works to create more effective tooling for accessibility engineers. He started his accessibility journey as a young child listening to his step father use JAWS to navigate the web and complain about poorly designed websites. While studying Computer Science and Linguistics at University of Michigan, Nick focused on accessibility in his coursework, culminating in a capstone project his senior year for an accessible redesign of typing with VoiceOver on the iPhone. He then interned at the American Foundation for the Blind before working for Assistiv Labs where he is excited to continue exploring how complex accessibility problems can be solved at scale. He currently lives in Boston, where he also grew up.
