Onsite, Online, On Your Time

AccessU is designed to bring you the accessibility skills that you need for an increasingly digital world, no matter your schedule or location. For our in person attendees, we are hosting exciting live workshops and activities at St. Edward's University in Austin, TX. If you prefer to join us online, the conference content will be available to you virtually via Zoom Events. Much of our content will also be available as asynchronous, pre-recorded workshops that you can access any time, perfect for busy schedules.

Onsite Shuttle Schedule

Knowbility will run an accessible shuttle from the conference hotel, Holiday Inn Town Lake, to St. Edward’s on each day of the conference.

May 9th: Deep Dives, Keynote & Reception

Our pre-conference attendees will participate in one of the following full-day Deep Dive Workshops.

In the evening, Molly E Holzschlag will help officially kick off AccessU with a wonderful keynote on Monday at 5pm CT.

All AccessU participants are welcome to join us at the Holiday Inn Austin-Town Lake or online in our Zoom Events conference platform.

The reception following Molly’s keynote will include an online trivia game where virtual attendees can compete against those onsite.

May 10th: Live Sessions

Tuesday will feature live sessions ranging from 90 to 180 minutes, covering topics of development, design, policy and more! Christina Mallon will join us for a keynote on Inclusive Design for lunch.

Our evening social activities include a virtual old-time radio show hosted and onsite attendees are invited to hang out with the Knowbility crew at Meanwhile for a concert.

May 11: Live Sessions, Q&A, Demos and More!

Wednesday is jam-packed with an Accessible Escape Room from Accessible Community, demonstrations of assistive technology software and equipment and a keynote from Kelsey Ruger on Accessibility in Small Business.

May 11th not only includes our live sessions but also live Q&A sessions with the presenters of asynchronous presentations. be sure to review the session videos and materials in the Learning Center so you will have your questions and thoughts ready to go!

Wednesday evening will include access to the escape room as well as a movie watch for onsite and virtual attendees.

May 12: Q&A, Roundtables, & Community

We end AccessU in the continued spirit of community engagement. The day will be full of live Q&A sessions with presenters of asynchronous sessions, and round table discussions on topics ranging from mentorship to coordinating the next steps in accessibility design and policy.

Thursday will also feature keynotes from Catarina Rivera on Disability Inclusion in Work and Kemi Yemi-Ese on the Art of Perseverance.

Onsite attendees are invited to attend Capital Factory's Accessibility in Tech & AccessU Happy Hour from 4:30-6:30pm.
