Over the past 30 years Art Spark Texas has been offering audio description services on a regular basis at Central Texas theaters and museums, as well as online and digital videos and website content. Audio description is the verbal translation of visual information to make it more accessible for people with low or no vision. The describer carefully weaves concise descriptions of the key visual elements into the natural pauses of the dialogue. Learn when traditional description versus extended description is appropriate for your content and develop the skills to write your own descriptions.
This workshop will be conducted by Celia Hughes, Executive Director of Art Spark Texas, and member of the ACVREP SME Audio Description Certification committee . The goal of this workshop is to train individuals in the techniques of Audio Description.
