Making a website accessible for screen reader users takes knowledge and intention. It’s important to ensure that screen reader users can access all information and functionality. Often that means using semantic HTML or providing alternative text. Sometimes you have to go beyond what HTML has to offer.

This webinar will take an in-depth look at different kinds of solutions from HTML to ARIA. You’ll learn:

  • How to provide labels and descriptions with ARIA.
  • CSS solutions, such as using visually hidden text to convey meaning to screen reader users.
  • When and how to hide content from assistive technologies.

Just as important, you will look at common scenarios and learn when to use each technique.

Read our recent A Brief History of Screen Readers post to get a head start on learning.
