Screen reader testing: the how and why behind accessibility best practices

taught by: Samuel Proulx

Session Summary

Testing products with a screen reader for the first time can be a daunting prospect. This talk will help you to determine how to start, when it’s time to involve actual users, when testing yourself is okay, and how to understand your findings.

Description

Find Screen reader testing: the how and why behind accessibility best practices on the Knowbility Learning Center

If you’ve never tested your digital products with a screen reader and don’t know where to get started, or you feel like you’ve been exposed to conflicting information about what kind of testing is needed and why, this talk is for you. Drawing on Fable’s years of experience testing digital products with screen readers, this talk will help clarify the path forward. Sam, a life-long screen reader user and accessibility expert, will give live demos, guide you through the process of using a screen reader yourself, and help you understand when and why actual screen reader users need to be involved in your development and testing process.

Instructor will present virtually.
