Jim Thatcher Scholarship Application

Jim Thatcher was an accessibility pioneer and Knowbility mentor. When he died in 2019, his family established an AccessU scholarship in his honor. Awarded scholarships cover the cost of all conference fees for either in-person or remote attendence for two (2) applicants. Travel expenses are not covered. Also available in 2025 - seven (7) local student scholarships from TestParty, students may apply until April 10.
Scholarship Application
Applications are open until April 10, 2025 and will reviewed by a diverse set of reviewers who have experience with Knowbility and are part of the AccessU advisory group.
The Jim Thatcher scholarship was created to provide a full, free ticket to the John Slatin AccessU conference in support of people who could otherwise not attend. Perfernce will be given to those who are:
- seeking a career in accessibility
- come from diverse backgrounds and life experiences
- can demonstrate previous community involvement
- would not otherwise be able to attend the conference.
Please note that the Jim Thatcher Scholarship cannot be awarded to the same individual for two consecutive years. If you feel you meet these criteria please complete the form below. We will notify you about your application status April 7, 2025.
