Unique new track for AccessU 2025
New for 2025 - Flipped Learning Track
Review posted materials in advance, actively participate in May

Inspired by the successful Accessible Canada/Accessible World (ACAW) conference produced in Montreal in May of 2024, Knowbility and Accessible Community have partnered to bring the concept to AccessU 2025. Read on for details of sponsorship, participation, and goals.
The Concept
Community input will shape the sessions. We agree that we must build a more equitable and inclusive digital world. We agree that challenges remain as we work toward that goal. This new track builds on sessions piloted at AccessU in 2024 and is meant to bring more voices and perspectives to the conversations about challenging topics specifically related to digital accessibility and inclusion.
Before AccessU
Following the format established at ACAW and AccessU 2024, we are asking for contributions in the form of video presentations, white papers, blog posts, podcasts, or other ways to present your thinking on the challenge topics. AccessU Conference participants will be given access to the library of curated materials in mid April 2025 to prepare for active participation when the sessions convene at AccessU.
During AccessU (May 14 and May 15)
Sessions are open to all in-person and remote attendees of AccessU 2025 with ASL, live captioning, and transcription services provided. A session facilitator will lead and be supported by a provocateur charged with ensuring that diverse perspectives are explored. A scribe will capture the discussion and post to the dedicated session archive. Participants are expected to complete background reading and video viewing to establish common understanding. The goal is to foster further engagement, collaboration, and the development of effective approaches and solutions.
The Challenges
For the purposes of deep exploration within time and resources constraints. we've settled on four challenges to bring to the AccessU community:
- Challenge 1: How we can use and shape AI so it benefits people with disabilities?
- Challenge 2: Where does digital accessibility “belong” within organizations and how does that affect career decisions and pathways to leadership?
- Challenge 3: What defines “Success” in digital accessibility?
- Challenge 4: What have we overlooked/left out?
Ways to Participate
Sponsor this track
Funds are needed for tech support, ASL and other disability accomodations, travel for the session leaders and more. Visit the AccessU 2025 Sponsor Page or contact us at sponsorship@knowbility.org
We're very excited about these sessions. We collaborated with ACAW to bring two "practice" sessions of this format to AccessU and had outstanding participation and results. We're eager to expand the concept and hope you're excited by it too.
