AccessU is a time of learning, community, and networking. Please join us at our conference events, both in person and virtual.

Welcome Reception - Monday May 13th, 5:30 - 8 pm CT

Join us for a welcome reception and a keynote at the Hyatt Regency Barton Springs. Meryl Evans will present "Community, Championing, and Compassion: An Accessibility Journey."

Location: 208 Barton Springs Rd., Austin, TX 78744

Austin on Your Own - Tuesday, May 14th

After AccessU, relax and enjoy a night out with old and new friends. Austin has numerous music venues, bars, restaurants, and other entertainment. For ideas, see Accessible Things to Do in Austin | Visit Austin, TX.

One option, thanks to Karl Groves and his company Afixt, is to take the accessible bus to the Salt Lick BBQ for a pay-your-own dinner. To reserve a spot on the bus and pre-pay for the group dinner, use this BBQ RSVP form. If you prefer to drive yourself, the RSVP is still required to join the group dinner reservation.

Speed Networking and Happy Hour - Wednesday, May 15th

Join us for drinks and snacks on the lawn at St. Edward's University sponsored by our friends at Monkee-Boy. We'll Kick Off our Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) celebration. Join fun speed networking activities to connect you to job seekers, those with jobs to fill, and the general community of practice. No charge for this event but please RSVP for Happy Hour to ensure we have plenty of snacks and drinks.

Celebrate GAAD - Thursday, May 16th

Every few years AccessU overlaps with Global Accessibility Awareness Day - GAAD - and 2024 is one of those years. We've invited to community to join us for Happy Hour on the 15th and will continue with great classes, AT demos and a first ever Unconference event. Along with a star studded closing Keynote panel, we will commemorate GAAD Austin style and tell your freinds they can still buy a one day GAAD ticket - see you there!
