Dawn Watkins
Board Member, Texas A&M System
Dawn Watkins is the Assistant Director of the Digital Accessibility programs for three research agencies within the Texas A&M System (TEES, TEEX, and TTI). She supports facility, staff, researchers, and contractors. She has evolved her skills in digital accessibility compliance over 20 years. During that time, Dawn progressed from a web administrator to a digital accessibility consultant, advisor, tester, and trainer to govern the digital accessibility program. She measures and evolves the program maturity against seven dimensions: Governance, Procurement, Communications, Development, Quality Assurance/Testing, Training, and Culture. Dawn works with key stakeholders from across the System to modify procedures and policies to help reach accessibility compliance.
Dawn gained credentials as a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) in 2018. She became a certified Project Manager and Trusted Tester in 2023. Currently, she continues to evolve her knowledge of digital accessibility through emerging technologies, like AI, to grow compliance at scale.
