taught by: Robert Carr

Session Summary

You've been put in charge of your organizations accessibility program, but what are you supposed to do and how do you figure out where you need to focus your efforts? Look no further than an Accessibility maturity model, a roadmap to your internal accessibility efforts.

Description

With thousands of employees and plenty of internal tools, it is critical to understand how accessible your organization is, but this is difficult without the help of a standardized model, and this is where accessibility maturity models come into play. It is challenging to keep track of everything happening within your organization, but ensuring processes are in place and focus is targeted in the right places will have the greatest impact on your organization’s internal accessibility program.

Practical Skills

  • Learn what an accessibility maturity model is, which one should you use, and how to work with it.
  • Learn how to use the information gather to drive accessibility within the organization and focus your efforts where they will have the most effect.
  • Understand that while an accessibility maturity model is useful and helpful in guiding your actions, it is a starting point, and internal accessibility is a process.
