Session Summary
Data visualizations like chart are often challenging to make accessible. ParaCharts is a new data visualization tool that makes it easy to create and publish charts on your website that are fully accessible to people with a wide variety of disabilities.
Description
This session will describe the challenges of making accessible dataviz, showcase how ParaCharts overcomes these challenges, and provide hands-on training for you to use and customize it.
ParaCharts is built from the ground up with accessibility in mind, and includes many innovated approaches to address the needs of people with blindness, low vision, and cognitive disabilities. It includes support for interactive automatic summaries at every level, sonification, and even refreshable braille displays, embossing printers, and audio-tactile displays.
You don't need to know anything about accessibility or data visualization to make inclusive charts with ParaCharts… but this session will give you a solid grounding in both.
