Scholarship Opportunities for AccessU 2025
In 2025, we have two scjolarship opportunities.
The first is the annual Jim Thatcher scholarship, named for a renowned accessibility pioneer and Knowbility mentor. When Jim died in 2019, his family established an AccessU scholarship in his honor. Awarded scholarships cover the cost of all conference fees for either in-person or remote attendence for two (2) applicants each year. Travel expenses are not covered. Also available in 2025 - seven (7) local student scholarships from TestParty, students may apply until April 10.
Jim Thatcher Scholarship Application
The Jim Thatcher scholarship was created to provide a full, free ticket to the John Slatin AccessU conference in support of people who could otherwise not attend. Perference is given to those who are:
- seeking a career in accessibility
- come from diverse backgrounds and life experiences
- can demonstrate previous community involvement
- would not otherwise be able to attend the conference.
Please note that the Jim Thatcher Scholarship cannot be awarded to the same individual for two consecutive years. If you feel you meet these criteria please complete the form below. Applications are open until April 7, 2025 and are considered by a diverse set of reviewers who have experience with Knowbility and are part of the AccessU advisory group. Notifications will be sent by April 10th, 2025.
