Zoom Events & Slack
Zoom Events and Slack will be your tools for communication and connection to AccessU 2022.
Attention Attendees!
Watch your inbox! You will receive two emails regarding accessing Zoom Events and the Learning Center no later than Thursday, May 5th. If you think we have the wrong email address for you we recommend filling out the Ticket Update Google Form. If you have any questions please email accessu@knowbility.org. Thank you!
Zoom Events
The virtual component of all hybrid events will be hosted on Zoom Events.
You should receive an email from Zoom Events. It will be sent to the email you listed in the ticket checkout questions. It is recommended that you make sure your Zoom app is up to date and that you are logged into the account you indicated.
pland. has created a walkthrough video of using Zoom Events.
Slack Messaging and Communication
Join AccessU 2022 presenters and attendees on our official Slack channel! Whether you are on campus or at home, you can chat about conference activities, current issues in accessibility, or connect with new friends in the field. We will be sending you an invitation to join the AccessU 2022 channel soon.
Slack is an instant-messaging and communication tool used by teams and communities. AccessU will use it for communications with and between attendees. While you can use Slack via the web-browser, you may find the app (desktop or mobile) more to your liking.
**Note: We will provide any urgent communications in Slack and near the top of this page.
A few tips and notes:
- #annoucements channel - AccessU Staff will post announcements about the conference and events
- #help channel - ask your questions regarding AccessU. Our staff will monitor this channel morning to night.
Other discussion channels are for general use and discussion amongst attendees; questions asked of AccessU staff in these channels may not be immediately seen
You may also create ad-hoc small group discussions using Direct Messages (DM) - with 1-8 persons
If you've not used Slack, this How to Use Slack video may help introduce basic usage
Mute channels judiciously if it becomes a little noisy (note: we don't recommend muting #announcements
We will be sending you an invitation to join the AccessU 2022 channel soon, so keep an eye out for it as we get closer to the conference. Ping us if you don’t get the invite – we don’t want to leave anyone out!
