Session Summary
Surprisingly, Some of the thorniest accessibility problems experienced by users are also some of the easiest to fix. Leveraging a few easy wins can help excite our teams and our users for our accessibility journey.
Description
Accessibility remediation is not fun. It can feel overwhelming, thankless, and so… so … slow. In this session we want to focus on how you might discover some changes that will be easy to implement, but really maximize improvement for your users. We will look at a few common scenarios, and discuss the implications for end users. We will then demonstrate how minor, targeted code and design changes can create a far more pleasant and accessible experience.
Practical Skills
- Participants will learn how some of the most common accessibility errors negatively affect disabled users.
- Participants will discover basic solutions to the sample problems.
- Participants will be able to evaluate their remediation roadmaps and prioritize these and other similar high-impact, lower-effort concerns.
