2025 Calendar of AIR Events

The AIR 2025 program runs from mid-September through mid-November, with the awards ceremony in January, 2026.

This is the final deadline to register for AIR 2025. Clients, individual participants, and teams must complete registration by this date to secure their spot in the program. Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of this year’s rally!

Meet the other individual participants you’ve been matched with to form your complete AIR team. This session is designed to help you connect, align on goals, and begin collaborating effectively.

(Hybrid - In-Person Location TBD)
The AIR Teams will meet the clients they have been matched with for the AIR competition. This will be their time to get to know each other, review the client's Web Planning Template, discuss the next steps, and set up times to meet throughout the development phase of the competition.

Take advantage of this opportunity to ask judges questions directly, gain clarity on judging form criteria and get tips to help strengthen your final deliverables and ensure your site meets accessibility standards.

All AIR participants are welcome to attend any of the training sessions offered. Each session is designed with a specific focus in mind, but we encourage everyone to join any training that supports their understanding and participation in the AIR program.

(All training sessions will be recorded. Zoom invites will be sent prior to sessions.)

These sessions review each of the accessibility requirements of the AIR Judging form. The training is broken into two sessions to have time to cover all of the judging items. The knowledge gained in these sessions will help you to implement and meet the judging requirements.  

The Judging form is based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. We will provide explanations and examples of what it means to understand and implement each requirement. Some code examples are included (for the geeks in the group;) but coding knowledge is not necessary. Reference to the accessibility features of WordPress will also be discussed.

The second of the two sessions will review each of the accessibility requirements of the AIR Judging form.

This session provides AIR participants with a foundational understanding of WordPress and the tools and knowledge needed to develop an accessible WordPress website.

During this training clients will learn how to prepare web content for their teams, manage expectations, communicate with their teams after the Kick-Off, and receive additional resources to guide them throughout the development process.

Clients will receive a survey to verify which session they would like to attend. Once responses have been received they will be sent a Zoom invite for their selected session.

These open, optional drop-in sessions are designed to provide additional support to AIR client participants as they collaborate with their teams and move through the project timeline. Whether you need help troubleshooting, planning, or just want to check in, office hours are a great opportunity to get personalized support.
