WCAG 2.2 now incorporates more guidance for a variety of input modalities. Let's use this time to learn more about WCAG 2.5.1 - Pointer Gestures, WCAG 2.5.7 Dragging Movements, and how they compare.


Description

During this session, we will learn about the fundamentals of WCAG 2.5.1 and WCAG 2.5.7. We will discuss who these criteria benefit, what each check requires, and provide examples of each. Once we cover the basics, we can dig into the similarities and differences to provide an even richer understanding of the guidelines.


Practical Skills

  • Participants will walk away with a full understanding of WCAG 2.5.1 - Pointer gestures, including both path-based and multipoint gestures.
  • Participants will come away from this with a complete understanding of WCAG 2.5.7 - Dragging movements.
  • Participants understand the key differences between pointer gestures and dragging movements, and be able to distinguish them when applying the learning to real world web content.
