Session Summary

This session introduces Teach Access, an active collaboration among education, industry, and disability advocacy organizations to address the critical need to enhance students’ understanding of digital accessibility as they learn to design, develop, and build new technologies with the needs of people with disabilities in mind.

Description

Join Kate Sonka for a tour through the first few years of Teach Access as we developed programs, outreach and partnerships that have resulted in an array of resources to help technologists learn about digital accessibility and incorporate inclusive design into their learning and practice. Kate will introduce how programs work, what the outcomes have been so far, plans for the future and how YOU can get involved.

Learn about Faculty Grants and the database of curricula that has developed. Hear from the experience of students and companies who participate in Study Away, and get the inside look at how to use our Accessibility Skills Hiring Toolkit. There will be plenty of time for your questions so join for the overview of this great organization and the plans they have to transform accessibility teaching and learning.
