This session will be a crosswalk to help participants understand performance indicators for technology programs, discuss the pros and cons of AT being considered part of an IT department, and explore some options for moving toward a more integrated technology system. The presenter will address the organization's key performance indicators as well as other commonly accepted accountability indicators to evaluate if assistive technologies are being effectively utilized within a school or district. Facets of the technology program to be considered will include infrastructure, cyber security, human resources, policy development, and professional development.

  • As a result of this presentation, participants will be able to evaluate potential methods to more fully integrating assistive technology into a school’s general technology footprint.
  • As a result of this presentation, participants will be able to identify key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of integrating assistive technologies.
  • As a result of this presentation, participants will be able to demonstrate ways in which to more effectively utilize the accessibility tools in core software for the benefit of students.
