This session will cover the academic impacts of COVID:19 on elementary and middle school reading and mathematics performance. We will review student growth and achievement status throughout 2020-2021 in elementary and middle school – as a whole and disaggregated by student groups and school types, including students with disabilities.

  • Participants will understand how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted reading and math performance in elementary and middle school.
  • Participants will understand the differential impact for students with disabilities (as well as English language learners and students of different racial/ethnic backgrounds)
  • 3. Participants will learn about some of the most promising areas to focus on in order to close gaps and help students move toward pre-pandemic levels of performance.
