Shari Stinnette

My journey to becoming an educator was not a linear one. I had grand ambitions to become a lawyer fighting for the environment. Instead, I fell in love with teaching students with learning disabilities. I left my law school dreams behind and completed an alternative program to achieve my certification as a Special Education teacher. I have been married 26 years and have 2 children. We live in a fixer upper and do our best, although we are no Chip and Joanna Gains. I love learning about new technologies, especially those that will help my students succeed. I also love the Hamilton soundtrack, anything Star Wars, solving puzzles and finding good deals. I make up songs to help my students remember things and sing them around the house, much to my husband’s chagrin. Basically, I am a ball of semi-controlled energy.
