Jen Perkins began her career as an actuary, moved on to editing and writing, and eventually found her niche as an instructional designer for online learning. As her knowledge and skills have developed in instructional design, usability, and user experience, she has developed a passion for inclusive design and accessibility.
Jen currently works as an instructional designer for Eastern Kentucky University’s “e-Campus,” a platform for 100% online undergraduate and graduate programs, and she occasionally contracts her services to other institutions and organizations. Via face-to-face and online sessions, social media, and conference events, Jen evangelizes as often as possible about the need for web and digital accessibility.
Jen discovered one of her favorite quotations on the United Nations Enable website: “Disability resides in the society, not in the person.”
