Dear friends,

It is with deepest sadness and no small measure of disbelief that I 
pass along to you the news that our dear friend and colleague, Bill 
Cahill has passed away.  Bill was the former Knowbility board chair 
and current CIO of St Edward's University.  Many of you knew that he 
was battling pancreatic cancer, diagnosed last August. Bill was 
incredibly dedicated to equitable technology access...for students 
and for disenfranchised groups, including people with disabilities.

We posted a brief note about Bill and Knowbility on our home page 
www.knowbility.org but it does even begin to express all that Bill 
Cahill did to put technology to work in service to all humanity.  He 
was a light indeed and it is hard to believe he is gone.  If you want 
details about the service or memorials, please contact me off list.
