[Accessibility_sig] FW: Beginning iPhone Programming

The iphone sounds like it has great accesibility features for things such as
e-mail or surfing the web. How does it work, though, in terms of dialing
phone numbers? The applications other than the phone itself sound great, but
I would like to know how easy it is for a totally blidn person to use the
iphone to make a call.

I am honestly very curious about this. My initial thought is that someone
who has no vision would find the iphone difficult to dial, but I would like
to know if there have been any product trials of the iphone with blind
users.

Surprisingly enough the I-Phone has made several advances in accessibility.
It even includes Apple's Voice Over screen reader. I have seen a few
articles on the accessibility of the phone. Information on
<http://www.apple.com/accessibility/iphone/vision.html> Apples site is
pretty good. I have not had the opportunity to test one though.

Does anyone know how accessible iphones are? Is there any information, to
be more specific, regarding iphone programming and accessibility?
