Forget ACL Fest...VSA arts and Knowbility's Sight. Sound. Soul. is the
best event Austin will witness in a long while!
Here's what's happening...
The caterer, Ash Corea, is in town buying duck legs, acorn squash,
shrimp, chicken, and other assorted goodies and is planning a menu
that is vegetarian friendly and not your normal Texas fare. I know
that you and your friends will enjoy. Cookies and brownies are
provided by Sweetish Hill. Come early and eat lots.
The bands are ready to rock and we meet with them tomorrow to work out
the details of the evening. 40 students from the School for the Deaf
and Bedichek MS will come to the meeting which is being held at PACT
(Public Access Community Television) where they will experience TV in
the making, as well as meet the musicians. Drop by between 10:00 and
noon to watch the fun.
The ASL interpreter, Jeannette Ocampo Welch (JO), arrives tonight. We are
hosting a workshop for ASL interpreters "Interpreting the Blues" on
Tuesday evening, and one lucky interpreter has been chosen to be
mentored by JO throughout the performance evening, giving her
exclusive backstage privileges.
The painters have primed their canvases, selected their palette and
are in the groove.
The silent auction rocks.... from arts to jewelry to a trip to New Orleans.
So, all we need is you and 20 of your best friends to come on down to
La Zona Rosa on Wednesday night.
Don't be late. You won't want to miss a minute.
