[Accessibility_sig] Forcing SMIL to use quicktime?

Does anyone know if there is a way to force .smil files to open in
quicktime? We have a bunch of movie captioned using magpie/smil/txt/.mov

They don't open gracefully at all. Any feedback would be most helpful
and appreciated. Thank you.
