All,
We've just released version 2 of the CCforFlash component an update for
the related ccPlayer, a new player for audio files called ccMP3Player,
and minor update to MAGpie v2.0.3. For the full story, please visit the
website at:
http://ncam.wgbh.org/webaccess/ccforflash
In particular, we've revved the CCforFlash package as described below.
CCforFlash component, v2.0.1 New features include:
- Synchronizes captions to sound objects, video objects, animated movie
clips, main timeline, and loaded swfs
- Supports programmatic instantiation of component
- Exposes full API and object properties
- Recognizes path names for target objects
- Recognizes multiple instances of the component in a movie
- Allows Flash author to override global styles in external caption files
- Allows square brackets in QTtext files
- Adds controllable padding between component background and caption text
- Changes default font style to 14-point Verdana
ccPlayer (Flash video player), v2.0.1 New features include:
- built around the new CCforFlash 2.0.1 (see above)
- adds full-screen capability
- allows new object parameters (flashvars) to be passed, such as video
autostart, caption autohide, etc.
- improved accessibility with screen readers
ccMP3Player (Flash MP3 player), v1.0.1 You may want to use this to
provide captions for podcasts on web pages. It's relatively barebones,
with no language or search features at this time. Features include:
- built around the new CCforFlash 2.0.1 (see above)
- improved accessibility with screen readers
MAGpie v2.0.3
The new MAGpie version 2.0.3 is availabe (Windows only currently). This
is a minor bug-fix release, repairing a minor bug in DFXP output. We're
hoping to release the Mac installer soon.
We hope you enjoy the new features.
Cheers,
