Avoid anything with the Insert key or combination using insert since
JAWS has monopolized this key and renamed it the "JAWS key." Obviously
you will want to avoid any Windows key commands. A complete list is
available on the Microsoft website. Finally, using a combination of
three keys example: CTRL+ALT+R) increases your odds of avoiding a key
conflict but nothing is guaranteed. However, triple access key
combinations are more difficult to execute for individuals with limited
hand mobility or fine motor control.

Subject: [Accessibility_sig] question: are there any "safe" access keys?
I am trying to make a photo gallery keyboard accessible. Tab index is
not a good solution for this problem, and the most convenient fix would
be to assign an access key. I know most keys are used by ATs for various
purposes and cannot be used as custom access keys--are there ANY keys
that are "safe" to use? Thanks!
