We have recently posted a new opening for a full time Web Accessibility / Adaptive Tech Specialist

Description

Work as part of the UCLA Academic Technology Services Web Team and the Disabilities and Computing Program, focusing on the convergence of web design, web accessibility and adaptive technologies. 

Responsibilities

Provide technical evaluation, consulting, training and support on web and adaptive technologies to students, faculty, staff, and to campus departments. Evaluate, test and install specialized computer technology and integrate technology with web sites, computer workstations, and local area and campus-wide networks. Plan, design, develop, program, maintain, and improve web sites according to W3C Web Accessibility Initiative Guidelines. Implement sites in XHTML with CSS (tableless) layout. Edit web content. Train and support staff in the use of custom-built and commercial applications. Assist in the development and refinement of interface design standards. Work with other staff to conduct and report on web accessibility and usability evaluations. Provide consulting, training and support to users with disabilities. Help users resolve barriers to computer access through the use of technology. Train users on how to use hardware and software solutions as access tools and compensatory strategies. Provide expertise to computing facilities support personnel on how to solve the problems of computer access for people with disabilities. Provide audio/visual/multimedia support.
