[Accessibility_sig] Overstock.com accessible?

Just a cursory review using the HTML Validator 0.8.3.3 for Firefox, reveals missing alt tags, depreciated tags, inappropriate attributes, tables that get closed without ever being open, javascripts with no type designation...
I would say that overstock.com would not meet the standards. 1199 errors reported.
Listening to it with JAWS, there does not seem to be specific optimization for screen readers. Due to the lack of alt tags the image file titles get read - like the header, which is "webpageheader800v5_logo."
I am confused by why they would want to bring attention to themselves by advertising that they are accessible when they aren't.
Thanks for sharing.

Subject: [Accessibility_sig] Overstock.com accessible?

While watching TV last night, I saw a commercial for Overstock.com that flashed a wheelchair icon (http://www.pratersmill.org/pm03images/wheelchairsign.gif) which I assume suggested accessibility. After taking a quick glance with the Lynx viewer, it doesn't seem accessible to me! What do yall think about thier effort of marketing as accessible, and do you think they pass?
