[Accessibility_sig] Inaccessible Website listing?

FYI, here in Houston we added a new segment to our AIR program called the
corporate Accessibility Awards. The idea is that people could nominate
Houston-based company web sites in 1 of 8 various categories (Energy,
Retail, Transportation, etc.) and we would judge their sites like we would
for AIR. We would then give out awards to the winning site in each
category. We hoped that this would draw more attention from the corporate
sector. Unfortunately, we've had no response either last year or this year.
It's hard to get companies to care about this sort of thing if it doesn't
directly effect them in some way.
BTW, I think a site that lists out all of the non-accessible sites is a
great idea, one that I've thought of many times. However, I've never had
the guts to do it (for legal reasons). Maybe someday. :)

Hmmm, I wonder if anyone has ever considered a web development
competition. Perhaps they could call it the Accessibility Internet
Rally or AIR :)

Perhaps it would be nice to have an award for Accessibility. Maybe that
would help make accessibility a desirable achievement in the minds of
businesses.

Rather than having an Inaccessible Sites website, how about a
review of websites where others could leave a review of different
website. Since these are based on that person's actual experience, there
would probably be fewer liability issues.
