[Accessibility_sig] Inaccessible Website listing?

I believe a search for inaccessible web sites would crash the system. The
ratio of accessible to inaccessible web sites is an embarrassment.

An approach that will get attention is to affect the profit margin of any
business.

Google now offers to search by accessibility. For example, I just searched
for 'childrens health' using the ordinary google engine and the number of
hits was 90,000,000.

I then searched using http://labs.google.com/accessible/ for 'childrens
health' and the number of hits was 9,380,000.

Perhaps we should all start using the 'accessible' search approach. The loss
of traffic would be noticed by the offending sites.

  Subject: [Accessibility_sig] Inaccessible Website listing?

After reading the discussions regarding Overstock.com's failure to meet
accessibility standards, I was wondering if a list of inaccessible web sites
is available. Of course, I understand that such a list could never be all
inclusive because there are over 100 million web sites on the internet, but
I think a list of inaccessible high profile web sites like Overstock,
Netflix, American Airlines, etc. would be very helpful. If such a list
existed and was highly publicized, it might put some additional pressure on
companies to make their web site accessible. What would the legal
implications be of publicizing such a list if it existed?

  Thanks.
